Bioshock 2: Research Camera Guide

Would have posted this sooner, but blogger was down when the time came.

Here's my newest video guide, it covers the research camera in bioshock 2, and what you get out of using it on enemies. I hope you like it.

With this I'm closing the book on BioShock 2 guides. Why you may ask? The primary reason being that I simply don't like making guides for it. BioShock 2 is a great game, but because of how linear it is capturing footage of it is a pain. As a result I've more or less burned out on the game, and don't want to touch it for some time. I'll be moving backwards now to a game I've already covered before. I'll let you wonder about which one it is though.

Here's to hoping my next video doesn't take so long to make.

Final Stages

I'm moving into the tail end of production, and all that's really left is to tie up loose ends. That within itself can have it's fair share of trouble since plenty can still go wrong, but hopefully nothing will happen.

Anyway here are a few pics demonstrating the type of effects I've been working on for the video.

Everything is done now! Rendering as I type this, and then I'll upload. Fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong.

Making Progress

First I'd like to point out the little list in the top right of the page which I've added. I'm keeping it up to date so even if I don't post you can still get an idea of what progress I've made.

Anyway on to the point of this post. I've moved onto the final stages of editing for the video. However because I've pumped up the visual quality of this guide the editing is FAR more complex. If that's not enough, the effects are also VERY integrated into the editing process. This means It will take me longer to put out the vid than I thought. However I'm confident that if I don't get distracted I'll finish by the end of the week.

After this guide I'll be returning to a game I've done guides over before.
Puzzled about what game this vid I'm working on is over?

Up and Running

Well my computer is repaired, and has been working for around two weeks now. I'm trying to put out a new guide by the end of may, but I don't know if I'll make the deadline. The main reason being that since I'm a big gamer, and there are a LOT of blockbuster titles coming out this month, I am currently finding it hard to motivate myself to put down my console controller. It would be a lot easier if making the guides wasn't such a large task, but that's just how it is.

Anyway as it currently stands this is the current state of the production list.

Scripting: Done
Narration: Not Started
Resources: Working
Footage Cap: Not Started
Effects: Working
Editing: Not Started

Hopefully that list will fill out in recent time, but I make no promises.

Next Up

I just wanted to let everyone know that while my computer isn't fixed just yet it soon will be. And due to the last month or so being devoid of work on a guide I have a bit of good news.
The script for my next guide is more or less done. Granted I still have some minor fixes in wording, and touch up writing to do, but that's all non-essential.

Unless something goes wrong I'm hopeful that I'll have a new guide out no latter than the end of May

Let's Play!... But Why?

I've been receiving requests to do a Let's Play" for Fallout 3 for a long time. And I've been wondering, why would anyone want me to? I've been publishing video guides almost the entire time I've been an active YouTube user, so where do "Let's Play" requests come from?

I'm not saying I will or won't do one, but I just don't understand how and/or why anyone came to the conclusion that I should do one.
Please comment and shed some light on this for me! I've been on the fence about weather or not it's something I should actually do. Your opinions will help me make my mind up (for better or worse).

Dead In The Water

All of my projects are on hold indefinitely.

The reason is that just earlier today my video card committed suicide. Without that six hundred dollar visual processing house my entire system is useless. I don't know when I'll be able to replace the old card, but if my tax return is large enough I'll be able to use that. Because of this I have some three weeks of work ahead of me to do research over video cards. I HAVE to be certain of know what chipset to get for my unique situation (game + editor).

Sorry but seeing as how I'm already headed for a busy month and a half, and with a broken video card added to the mix, I don't think I'll be publishing another guide till mid May. I can hope I'm wrong, but I'm giving fair warning.

Thank god I have my Mac to fall back on. At least I can squeeze by with the bare minimum.
